There are nearly six miles of sands on the Filey coast, with beach chalets and the well-known Filey Brigg, good scrambling and walking at low tide plus rock pools to splash in and search for mysterious creatures of the sea. Take a Donkey ride along the sands, or just take it easy on the beach.

Filey is protected to the north by a low lying ridge of rocks called Filey Brigg and the sands sweep to the south, terminated by the spectacular chalk cliffs of Speeton and Bempton.

As well as being an attractive feature, the Brigg offers a diverse variety of birds and marine life and is regularly visited by naturalists and ornithologists at all times of the year. One word of advice is do not try and walk around the cliff base from Filey to Cayton Bay.

It cannot be done and you will get trapped...
